Payment Gateway Integrations — Mercado Pago

Context: Mercado Pago processes millions of transactions daily across Latin America. The payment gateway integration layer needed to be highly reliable, scalable, and support multiple payment providers with low latency.
Solution: Developing and maintaining 42+ Golang microservices that integrate with external providers and acquirers, translating credit card transaction messaging into formats accepted by each provider — JSON, XML, ISO 8583, and positional TXT batch files via SFTP. Implementing observability with Datadog, New Relic, and BigQuery for real-time monitoring and analytics.
Impact

Processing millions of daily transactions across Latin America with high availability. Leading technical projects and architecture decisions for Mercado Pago's payment gateway infrastructure.
